Human Resources Business Partner
Under limited supervision, this position administers human resources policies, programs and practices for assigned Programs. Primary duties include recruitment, resolving employee relations issues, administering payroll and employee benefits, and working with senior management to implement necessary changes and additions to current policies and practices. This is a temp to hire opportunity.
Coordinate the staffing process which includes job postings, resume screening, first level applicant screening, interview scheduling, generation of offer letters, and ensuring required background check are completed in a timely manner and results are satisfactory.
Provide advice and guidance to assigned department managers on personnel policies and sensitive employee relation and disciplinary issues.
Ensure employees have a resource for whenever they have an issue by establishing a reputation for genuinely caring about their welfare and visiting each location at least semi-annually.
Administer various human resources programs and initiatives for assigned Programs. This includes programs such as Annual Performance Review, Open Enrollment, Employee Appreciation Events, Workers Compensation & Unemployment, Service Awards, Education Assistance benefit and professional development requests and initiatives such as Safety Day, Code of Ethics Training, etc.
Maintain employee data in HRIS system (Workforce Now) and manage payroll changes for assigned employees.
Coordinate personnel transactions such as promotions, transfers, leaves of absence and terminations.
Investigate and resolve employee complaints, sexual harassment allegations, discrimination charges, disputes and other “in house”, sensitive issues and assist in providing education to prevent their occurrence.
Make recommendations regarding changes and enhancements to HR programs and assist in establishment and implementation of new employee programs.
Maintain current knowledge of new laws and regulations in assigned states regarding human resources.
Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as required.
Maintain all permanent employment records.
Conduct new employee orientation for new employees to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of Company policies and benefit programs.
Command knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration, show initiative and focus people’s attention on matters before they become urgent.
Must demonstrate superior oral and written communication skills and excel in relating with others.
Have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public.
Proficient using MS Office Suite and Payroll applications (ADP Workforce Now).
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Bachelor’s degree.
Three to five (3-5) years of Human Resources experience with specific experience in recruitment, employee relations and working with remote employees.
SHRM Certification a plus.
