Addison, IL—Onsite with some days remote
$35-38 per hour
The HR Generalist will be supporting the HR team with a variety of duties that include benefits, annual open enrollment, credentialing, background checking, performance reviews, recruiting assistance and other duties as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists with the open enrollment process
Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes
Conducts or acquires background checks, credentialing verification and employee eligibility verifications
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance5Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Reports to the HR Director
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
At least three years of human resource generalist experience
Managing benefits/open enrollment for at least three years
Experience running background checks and credential verifications
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
