Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team corporate. The Payroll Specialist will be primarily responsible for providing timely and accurate payroll processing of biweekly payrolls. Will also be responsible for entering payroll adjustments, processing garnishments, commissions, and various other payments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for all aspects of processing payroll data

Enter payroll adjustments into the system, process garnishments, commissions and various other payments

Responsible for quarterly reconciliations of payrolls

Ensure all relevant changes and information are included in payroll with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness, in a very fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

Set up and maintain payroll-related activities (enrollments, terminations, COBRA, funding) and process employee changes

Report writing to extract data from HRIS systems to create business intelligence reports for management and auditors

Annual preparation of W-2’s and year – end tax adjustments

Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 2 plus years’ experience processing payroll required

Experience processing hourly and salaried payrolls, as well as union payrolls

Knowledge in Accounting – preferred

Well-developed analytical and problem solving abilities

Experience writing reports and business correspondence

This position may be based in any of San Jose or San Rafael office. Periodic travel to San Rafael will be required, particularly during training, and at least once per month thereafter

Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office

Ability to review deliverables to ensure accuracy
