Payroll & Benefits Administrator – Barrington, NJ

Contract Payroll and Benefits Specialist will administer the activities relating to the company payroll, benefit enrollments, Time and Attendance management, new state set-ups in UKG (formerly Ultimate Software), audits, and system updates. Must have a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Hybrid Model – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote

Payroll:

Enters and maintains accurate payroll records and timesheets, and compiles reports from the database as needed.

Follow up with Managers on any missing time punches.

Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, multiple locations (multi-state).

Process all employee changes as it relates to compensation changes/adjustments, changes in employment status, deductions

Process garnishments, child support orders, quarterly tax verifications, worker compensation reports, and employment verification requests

Respond to all payroll inquiries. This would include approving incoming requests via UKG (formerly UltiPro) from employees requesting changes to their direct deposits, taxes, and benefit changes.

Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll and human resources requirements.

Benefits:

Verification that carrier feeds into UKG from benefit vendors is correct.

A solid understanding of payroll benefits programs and related laws/regulations is a must. Multi-state operational experience is necessary.

Provide new employee benefit orientations and assist new hires with their online benefits enrollment via UKG.

Assist with the annual open enrollment process to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.

Assist employees who have had life events and how to make those changes within UKG.

Audit monthly benefit invoices for accuracy.

Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Required Experience:

3+ years of payroll/employee benefits experience

Knowledge of employee benefit programs
